Monte Carlo Decal Kits.

I found a website that has a whole bunch of different decals for the monte carlo and I wanted to get some opinions. I have a red 2003 monte carlo ss with the black pin stripes down the side and I am not a fan of them at all. I was thinking of putting on the checkered flag decals and rally stripes. Should I do both the rally stripes or just the checkered flag? Heres the link to the kits take a look and tell me what you think. Chevrolet - Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Decals, Chevrolet Astro, Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Cavalier, Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Express Van, Chevrolet HHR, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Mo

I wouldn't do both, look around the forum at the other members cars, there are plenty of ideas.......

It would look great with either, or, I have not seen anyone with both. Personally I would do both, it may be a deal breaker on color. If you get the right placement and color combination, it would look great. IMO, but to be a purist, just do one, either the flags or the stripes.

Id just do one or the other, both would be too busy imo

I agree one or the other. I think both would be too much.

Auto Trim Design are the ones that did my Bud Chev! They can make anything if you give them enough time and money. It questionable if they were trademark infringing, but they did it! Wild vinyl is a cheap way to go from mundane to awesome fast

Only do one , Both would be too busy..
I like this one..

I do not use automatic car washes, but it is probably durable enough to use. I had the car decaled 4 years ago and it has not peeled or blistered. Some of the black "printed" parts are fading just a tiny bit, not much. It has been exposed to high heat and extreme cold. When I got it done I was given the option of cheaper or better vinyl and the choice I made is obvious. Some parts, like the hood, are done in multi-layers. The multi-layed stuff is actually holding up the best

i like the lemans style hash marks, never really thought about putting any graphics on my black 06 but they seem kind of neat.

or maybe the hood and trunk stripes.

flat black stripes on a black car... now im starting to think

MillerMonteSS 11-29-2012 07:37 PM

Not bad. That may be an option when I repaint mine.

I wouldnt do both.... I personally think you should do the original pace car checked. or the simple two stripes on the fender

butch049 02-12-2013 12:35 PM

Rally stripes

Anybody have a idea what it would cost have the Rally stripe kit put on? I think im going to have it done just want a idea what it would cost. Thanks

Actually it isn't hard at all. If you can spray soapy water on the decal and part to apply it on, then you can do it. Just need a clean surface, recommend a tach cloth after cleaning and right before applying. You can slide decal anywhere for perfect fitment. Practice with a decal or something. Just squegee it out good and let dry. Watch some you tube videos

I hate those fake pace car kits. They look so cheesy and fake. At least to me they are easily spotted. I do like that rally stripe kit though.

The fakes are always one color. I do like the fading effect of the real ones. But Chevy offered the checker flag decals on more than just the pace cars. They also offered them in a special order "winner's circle" package. It's in the 2004 dealership brochure I have.

Those ones were a different design. They were 2005 models, I believe they were on LT trims.

That's exactly what sticks out to me. Looks out of place and incorrect. Like looking at a Bandit T/A with a bird on the hood that wasn't outlined.
