LED headlight bulbs

I was wondering if anyone has seen these in person or had any experience with them. These are NOT HIDs, they are actual LED replacement bulbs. If they actually work and aren't sketchy junk like some of the stuff on ebay, I think they would be really neat.

hmm...id like to see what they look like too. Plus because they are LED they should last a hell of a lot longer than your standard bulbs..... But, can LEDs be just as bright as the bulbs?

heres a forum thread on LED bulbs. one car in a pic has an LED bulb in the left headlight and a halogen in the right for comparison. also some other really nice pics to

LED bulb thread

i don't think you can really tell if they would be good headlights just by looking at them let up but they do seem bright enough

I would also be interested to see how they look after being on for a few hours, like a long night drive. If bright LEDs don't have sufficient heatsinking, they can dim or even damage themselves. I might just have to make myself the guinea pig on this one if we don't get some more replies...

im already thinking of where to put the super bright white led park/accent lights. they look good

That isn't necessarily true now, but certainly was a few years back. Older LED flashlights that didn't have enough power and poorly designed reflectors suffered from that, but now they are so much more powerful, and this bulb seems to have the LEDs positioned in such a way that the reflector housing should work.

The concept seems sound, I'm just not sure if these bulbs use modern, powerful, reliable LEDs or not.

I'm interested to see how this turns out, but I really don't think an LED headlight bulb would be as bright as a standard halogen bulb.

Color wise, it looks nice, but I'd love to see the projection and pattern of the light output
