How to repair High Sport ground effects
Hi, has anyone figured out what kind of plastic they used to make the High Sport ground effects? A couple of the retainers for the mounting clips are broken on mine. I'm trying to find out what kind of glue would stick to this flexible plastic or if a plastic welder is a better option to fix it permanently.

Try Q-Bond with reinforcing powder. Its available at most auto parts stores. I took my front to a specialist in the mid 00's and he tried 3 times to repair this corner and the bottom tab. A friend had some Q-Bond 4-5 years ago and we tried it (on the car) and its paintable. I would recommend using some plastic mesh as an additional reinforcement. Let us know if it works, I have at least one broken fascia tab and want to restore it next year.

Is it the clips that snap on the ground fx? Or is it the ground fx itself that broke?

This is how it should be. Not sure if the Q bond will stick to this kind of plastic but it's worth a shot. |
Thanks for the pics, that does clear up the issue. That is a challenging one. I don't know if a glue is the route to take or perhaps a plastic welder.... I am sure a good body shop guy can give some ideas.
