Will 1200k be too much as just daytime lights with my fogs? Anyone know the number for the fog lights and daytime running lights

 

I run SilverStars in the 06, just the low beams (no high beam SilverStar available for the 7th Gen). I've heard people complain about the SilverStars and that they don't last that long, BUT if you turn your "auto lights" off during any daytime driving the bulb life is much longer. I usually try to turn my lights off during the day and have got a set of SilverStars to last for quite a while.

I ran SilverStars in my 03 in both the low and high beams.

 

Here's a pic from when i had my 50w 10K's and stock housings, i dont have any pics of my new 55w 12K's in black housings... the black housings kill the light output and the deeper blue doesn't help either, but they are still brighter than stock

 

I run stock lights in my monte. The cool thing is I have Depo headlights that have a chrome side bezzel with black bottom. Most people have black bottom and black side bezzel.

Every monte I see with adftermarket headlights has black bezzel.

 

are the high beams same as the day time running lights?

 

Yes, but not on all models. I think 04+ cars use the lows as the DRLs

 

I know 06+ uses the low beams as the daytime running lights. The high beams are exclusively highs and the lows stay on when the highs are on. My 03 used the high beams as the daytime running lights but I'm not exactly sure what year between 03-06 the transition was made.

 

Pretty sure it's 04 because I remember some Dale Jr edition and I had a little argument about it and we were both right
