H.I.D headlight problem
 

Just a quick question.
Everytime I get an hid kit on my monte it burns up the factory plug that plugs into the ballest and rusts the connectors together on the plug and ballest. Seems like every kit i get no matter price or brand they do this. The kits were 35watts. What could be my problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The factory wiring is too small gauge to handle the amperage draw required to power the ballasts. It would be best to get an HID wiring harness that draws power directly from the battery. There is a relay in the harness and you use the factory wire to trigger the coil in the relay and power the lights. Since the relay coil draws very little amperage it will not melt/burn your factory wiring.


Oxidation and electrolysis is your other problem. Clean the connectors the best you can, then apply some dielectric grease to the connectors and snap it back together. This will help to reduce/eliminate the problem.

Perfectly put relay kit is cheap and will should solve your problem
