Dumb Question
 

Im having trouble replacing my fender on my monte i cant get it off because the hydraulic lift for the hood is keeping me from removing it??? idk im still learning on my monte all help is appreciated

Just use a broom handle to hold the hood open..

no i mean i cant get the hood to detach from the fender to take it off

Although I've never done a fender R&R on my Monte, the first thing they say to do in my manual is remove the hood. However, if you can support the hood I'd think that you could just remove the spring clip on the end of the hydralic support then pop it off the ball stud. On each end of the support there are slots that the fingers of the clip go into. Using a small flat tip screwdriver (or similar device) you can carefully pry the fingers out of the slots, then pull the support off the ball stud. Keep one hand over the clip so it doesn't go flying and wear safety goggles. ;) They also mention removal of the inner fenderwell splash shield and the front bumper cover, so (if they aren't already) they may need to be removed also.
