Do the thick raised bumper thing on the middle of the door come off?

It's hard to explain but the seventh gen doesn't have the raised bumper type line!

Those are called body side moldings. The purpose is to keep the door from being hit with say shopping carts, other doors etc. The answer to your question is yes they can be taken off , the answer to your next question ....how? There is a couple of ways actually , a heat gun or just good old fishing line. The chances are extremly good there will be some glue or other sticky residue left behind .

2005 they actually stopped putting them on. As well as trunk keyholes.

Yes there will be small holes that would need to be filled in.

The 5th Gens were just taped on, and they could be removed without holes left behind.

I feel like they're missing something without them
