disabeling DRL's
so, i want to put hids in the monte, but i dont want the drls(i know they are in the high beam section) on and i dont want my lights to flash when opening the car. because if i have hids and they flash, thats no bueno for my bulbs…any help is appreciated!

Are you putting HID's on the high and low beam's? I have them just on the lows and I never even use my high beams. Also the bulbs are available for like 15 bucks a set on ebay so I wouldn't worry about them coming on when you unlock the car. Ive had mine for a year or so with no problems at all also they do have a few seconds of warm up time but no flicker.

Same here dont have to worry bout the flash & i got hid highs but i hadda wire it up myself to its own switch

If you still have the factory radio you can disable the FOB light feature through it by selecting mode 1 (off). That way your lights won't flash when you lock/unlock the vehicle. You might be able to change the mode without the factory radio, but I don't know what that procedure is. Maybe someone else might know.

Hey. On My 2005 MonteCarlo SS 3.8. Ive had HIDs for Almost 2 years this NOV.. Ive had no problems.
What works For me is: I Open My Hood and Removed the Small Relay DRL's In fuse Box, And ive had No problems. I have No day time Running Lights. But when It starts to Get DARK outside Then My Lights Will Come on AUTO... as For engine Light. Well im not sure if it sets it off. MY ENGINE light is always On as I DONT have a CAT :P |
