Custom LED tail lights?

So I recently up graded my light to to the red 07 tail lights, I was thinking about cutting up mine and taking the led strip lights to make the two circles. But I do t know anything about how to make sure I have tail and brake lights or how to wire them into my car. After I was done I was going to smoke the lens so it was all hidden. Anyone got any ideas, hitns, pics, or comments to help me along?

I say do it  got any pics of your 6th gen with the new 7th gen taillights? I've always wondered how much different it would look, especially on a black one :)

There's a size difference between the 6th gen and the 7th gen tail lights. They do look good but there is a bigger gap with the 7th gen tails lights on a 6th between the bumper and the bottom of the taillight. I have pictures somewhere I will have to look for them though.

Awesome thanks! Still wouldn't mind seeing them on a black one before I consider switching.. think I may just tint mine.

I wonder if you would need a resistor because I don't know how much juice a strip of leds would draw. If some one was gonna do it I think it would be cool if it all lit up for brakes and just the bottom or top could blink for the turn signal. I was also thinking it would be cool to do two spirals for the blinkers in opposite direction's and have them alternate.

- They are LEDs in the "system" of turning ... so you will need to either use resistors or have your switch re-worked so it is solid-state.
