Adding fog lights

My '06 didn't come with foglights and I hate the look of the black holes in the bumper. How hard is it to add stock replacements in there? I know I'll need another light switch as I have seen that you push the center of it to turn them on but is the wiring and all already there for them or is this a harder task than I hope?

the wires are there you will just need to replace the head light switch get a relay and fuse. i am doing the same thing im just trying to figure out how to get the old switch off and put in the new switch to turn on the fog lights. with out of messing up my dash it is kind of in there so becare full.

ive heard that its already wired, you just need then new light control module and the lights themselves, ive never physically looked tho

i am getting ready to do the wright up i kind of suck at wrighting up what i have done.but right know just be patent i had to remove my bumper to screw in the fog light asembely and while every thing was off i was able to hook up the plug and play wiresto the back of the fog light. having the bumper off gives you plenty of room to do every thing right with out breaking the bumper or making it look bad when you are on your back. if the fuse relay box under the hood there should be a fuse already there it operates some thing else as well as being a fuse for the fog lights all you need is the relay and a new head light switch. be very carefull when taking off your old switch and putting in the new one. i have already looked into getting a seperet switch for it and relised it will cause electrical gremlins. so becarefull for that every thing is pretty mutch straght forward

i have seen the wires on the 6th gen it is covered up by wire caps so there would not be a problem. but it looks easy then my 7th gen

whats the relay for?

i thought the install would be pretty much plug and play

I wonder the same. I figure if the wires are already there (I may look for myself just to see today), you would think that all you need to do is get teh correct light switch and maybe add a fuse to the box for it. I won't be doing thins probably til spring so no hurry on it.

the fog lights on my 02 havent worked since I bought it...might have something to do with it sitting in a barn for 2 years. anyway, they are a pain in the a$$ to find all the wiring and almost impossible to work on..so i just don't use them.

I installed after market fog lights on my 97 k1500 though. It looks alot harder then it was, the hardest part was putting the switch in the dash only because I didn't want to drill a hole in the fire wall so i forced my way into an existing hole then re-patched it up.
