2003: door hitting front quarterpanel...

Please tell me what kinda work has to be done:

I have a 2003 and the driverside door is misaligned, and is hitting the front fender when the door is opened...

To the point the fender is now slightly bent and paint is being rubbed off both panels.

Please tell me what kinda work has to be done :)

thank you!

I think it is caused by the door pins being worn. My fender and door are both chipped from it too but I think someone adjusted the hinges before I got it. My door does sag a bit tho still

My 04 was doing that and I found out that my fenders are weak where they bolt to the body of the car. I found this out after I removed the ground effects. I moved mine ahead alittle on these bolts and have yet to hear them rubbing again. I might be into replacing my fender in the future. I don't know if you may have the same type of rust issues but it's something to look at.

You can either try to move the fender down a lil or open the door & pull ur fender out till it clears

This - mine started doing the same thing a while ago. Your hinges could also be failing, letting the door sag and slide into the fender like it's doing.

Weird as it sounds. My 04 only does it when it’s bitterly cold for a few days. Lower than 25 that is. It does not make a habit of those types of conditions in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttps://montecarloforum.com/forum/ /><st1:place w:st=<st1:City w:st="on">Seattle</st1:City></st1:place>. It will be my first winter here. So we shall see if the door starts to hang up again.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

I just had a problem like you are describing. When we got it apart, the lower bracket on the fender was all rusted out.

I had no idea of.the rust as the rocker panel covers at the bottom blocked it. The area tag that bolts it to the frame was all gone.

A new fender fixed it all.

Thank you all. Mine started last fall and was wondering. Now my only thing to debate is to swap the front end for an Impala 00-05 or 06 & up MC/Impala then maybe I could get projector headlights. :rotfl:

What do you guys think?
