2002 Dale Earnhardt SS - Changing Headlights - Need Some Opinions

As the the title states, I need some opinions. All are welcome, but preferably from folks who have had experience with the Anzo and Spyder aftermarket lights.

I'm changing out the headlights. With this summer heat, and having the original assembly that are close to reaching their 14th year, I figured I'd try something different.

Mentioning this summers heat, the silicone that is used for the plastic covers is melting on the older headlights, so they pop out from time to time. They stay in, but slowly start to move outward.

It's my daily driver, though I've tried different things to keep the cover on, the heat just keeps working it's way through them. So I figured I would go with new ones. They are an easy 15 minute swap, plus a few minutes for beam adjustment.

I can't seem to decide between the Anzo and Spyder assemblies. Both crystal assemblies have a nice "smoke" lens which I think would look great with the black Monte, and the "Projector" assembly seems to be the "hot" thing folks are raving about on net for looks and better lighting than "regular" style assemblies, but I can't decide between them.

Any feedback from folks who have these light assemblies, especially on the 2000-2005 Monte's would be greatly appreciated. If you have any pictures of them on your car, that would be appreciated as well.

Need to decide fast before the "El Nino" they are expecting to hit California comes, since I don't want any water shorting my system out due to water getting into the electrical components through the open headlights.

I have the black ones on mine, put them on in the spring and love them, the light up at night very nicely

I have not had the chance of driving one of our cars with the halo's so can't comment on them but have heard good things and bad things about them

There are only two options for 00-05. Your factory lights and the darker ones like Ken and I have. Regardless of what they're called, projector or whatever else they might be called. These are the only two, no projectors are available for our cars. Mine are considerably dimmer at night, i just got used to it after a while. As far as which brand, i'm not entirely sure it matters much. They're all pretty similar.

Good deal, appreciate the feedback guys. I did find some pics with the Halo projectors, but it looks like they have to be custom made. Not sure if they are worth it though, so I will probably go with the Anzo since they are cheaper and offer a longer warranty.

Also, was checking out this site http://www.carid.com/2002-chevy-monte-carlo-headlights/ Anyone know what the difference between "Euro" style and the regular OEM style is?

Euro style would be the dark ones, oem would look like factory. And halos are made for these cars but you'd have to take apart the headlight assembly and install them yourself.

Hey, I think I replied to this on Reddit when I ran into it lol.

The black ones look good, you said you don't care about light output, so definitely go for it! They looked real sweet on my car when I had them, now that I don't really drive at night anymore with my Monte, I might go back to them.

Yeah, that was me on reddit lol. Thanks for the feedback, and the pic man. I've been wondering, what front end is that? I just started looking into modding my Monte since my Chevelle has to be a weekender because of gas. Though I want to keep the original parts on the Earnhardt SS, those front ends have been catching my attention.

It's a discontinued grille cover called the SLP Grille.

It's simply just removing the knight's crest, painting the grille, and placing it on with emblem tape.
