Default Rear Wheel Drive build thread, It is happening..

The behind the scenes work at Art Morrison Enterprises, custom building a state of the art sub-frame has been completed. The specially designed frame has been built and will be cladded with a 2006 Monte Carlo body. Utilizing CAD drawings Morrison accurately produced a stout steel alloy frame destined to be the key building block for a true Rear Wheel Drive 2006 Monte Carlo SS. The specially built Monte Carlo frame has been delivered to the builder in Utah on 10 Feb. 2015 where it will now undergo what is sure to be a baptism of fire, as it is transformed by the knowledgeable and envisioned owner, the highly skilled build shop, into what can only be described as what will become known as the Ultimate 06 Monte Carlo SS.

The donor 06 Monte Carlo is also in place awaiting it's sacrifice. With great skill the upper body will be separated from limited areas of the floor pan and any suspension components. What will then only be a 7th gen. shell upper body, doors, glass, fenders etc. will be set onto the Morrison frame and after all necessary adjustments, be welded into place. Thus creating the ultimate conversion of a FWD Monte into a true RWD 7th Gen. Monte.

This build is expected to take perhaps 3 years to completion. As when the SSV Monte was built there will be things done, that will have to be un-done and moved in another direction. It is anticipated the progress in some apsects may be quicker than the 1st 07 Monte SSV build as we are dealing with a somewhat more straightforward project.

Will post some photo's of the Art Morrison Enterprise 7th gen. Monte Carlo frame and the donor Monte tomorrow. Getting late and time waits for no one. Well ladies and gents of the Monte Carlo Forum we will all be bearing witness to an adventure so extreme this is sure to provide a most wonderful opportunity to see a spectacle this rare taking shape.

Let the show begin... Some will want Sam to be the hare, yet we know it is the tortoise who wins the race. And win we will...

Sam:
Didn't you just get it back this past summer?
I was so hoping that we would finally be able to see/meet you and your master piece at the Spring Meet...

I surely hope..
You keep us posted/Updated on it progress with Pics..

This sounds like the very same thing I have been wanting to do with my 5th gen... GM had built one that they showed off at the NMCOA. a number of years ago. So I know its possible..
Just not financially possible for me at this stage in my life.

Definitely looking forward to this Build.
Thanks for the heads up!
Good luck with the build!
I would have loved to be there during the whole process..

Nice, so an entirely separate build from Monte SSV. What are your plans for the powertrain on this one, if you're willing to share? Really curious how the frame looks. Looking forward to the pictures and seeing some progress!

So, safe to say this'll be the meanest pair of 06-07 Montes to grace the presence of the Earth.

Sam:
Very nice!
Most definitely that rear end housing looks super strong for sure.
Can you say bullet proof?

Nice square tube chassis.
The donor body looks really clean.
If I were you..
I could hardly contain myself..

Thanks for the Pics!
