03 Monte LS - Clone SS?
Hello,
I have a 03 Monte LS and I need a new front bumper. I'm wondering if their is any difference between the LS Bumper and SS Bumper? I want to put fog lights in it also. What parts interchange from the SS to the LS also? Thanks! |
The 00-05 ls and ss bumper covers are the same. The only difference is if you get the added high sport ground fx (to install the his ground fx require cutting slots in the front bumper cover).

The wiring for fog lights is not present in the LS. You would have to change the harnesses both inside & out and then get a new BCM and have it programmed for fog lights.
I actually did all of that. Love having the fog lights. |
i have fog lights on my ss and never use them :s they look good tho
|
Difference between SS and LS is the SS gets red bow tie, dual exhaust and a spoiler. Sometime a lip kit but not always
|
and a sun roof
|
My LS has a sun roof.

My SS is one of the cloth interior ones. Also, the 00-04 SS came with a L36 non-supercharged 3800 v6. The '05 SS was a L67 Supercharged 3800. '06-'07 the SS was a v8. |

Hi Bkoso85, As far as the fog lights go, it is fairly easy to find fog lights and a fog light switch at a parts interchange or junk yard and you will be able to mount them to the inside of any stock bumper cover w/o issue(that's what I originally did on my ls). Next, all you need to do is to run a line to the fog light housings from the fog light switch, and then get a power feed from the fuse panel (preferably the fuse block dedicated to the external lighting) to the switch. The correct way to do it would be to swap harnesses, but if you are on a budget and have a basic knowledge of wiring(or know someone who does), this is an effective way to get fog lights. |
