[HOW TO] Remove rust stain from body
 

Let me preface this with the fact that soap and water does NOT take this off. After I pulled a rear bumper cover from a scrap yard, I realized that I had my work cut out for me. Whatever it had been sitting next to, was rusting badly and the rain brought the residue onto the bumper cover and dried there. It was covered in rust stains.

I picked up some turtle wax rubbing compound from auto zone, it was around 3 bucks or so. Just take a rag, get some compound on the rag, and rub on the stain. It pulls it off quite easily.

Also, always follow-up the compound with a good wax to seal the paint. :thumbsup:

Just be careful on black paint or any darker paint as you will see swirl marks in the paint on a suny day, almost a "haze", you'll have to take some extra steps with other compounds and glazing formula compounds as well. Like using this, may take a little longer but the outcome will be the same. (Meguiar's Medium Cut Cleaner #1) http://www.detailing.com/store/megui...aner-16oz.html . I actually recommend this, (Meguiar's Fine Cut Cleaner #2) http://www.detailing.com/store/megui...aner-16oz.html like i said before it may take a little longer to get it out, but the finish will be more polished and clean, on silvers and whites, i wouldn't worry about it. Just on darker colors. Had to put my input in, i work at a body shop and see small mistakes all the time :)
