<!--leftside ends here -->In a weekend packed with racing, Chevrolet dominated the top 10 results of both the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway. The bowtie-backed cars took eight of the top 10 spots in the Long Beach Grand Prix, and taking five of the top 10 (but not the ultimate victory in the Sprint Cup race.
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Will Power won his second consecutive race of the season, making team Penske 3-0 for the IndyCar season so far. Due to Chevy’s decision to pull engines from all of its cars, IndyCar penalized all Chevy-powered cars 10 places in the starting grid. But that didn’t stop the bowtie boys from dominating the final results, with Will Power taking the overall victory, and teammates Ryan Briscoe taking seventh place, and Helio Castroneves taking tenth. The only other brand represented in the top 10 was Honda, with driver Simon Pagenaud taking second place, and Takuma Sato taking eighth place.

NASCAR Nationwide, Sprint Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway
Roush Fenway Teammates Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Greg Biffle took the victories in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup NASCAR races on Friday and Saturday, respectively, racking up two wins for Ford. However, among the top 10 finishers of the Sprint Cup series race on Saturday, five were Chevrolet cars , compared to Ford’s three . Biffle’s victory represents the end of his 49-race winless streak. Jimmie Johnson took second place in a Chevrolet in the Cup race, followed by Mark Martin in a Toyota, with Jeff Gordon coming in fourth in a Chevrolet. The race represented the fastest average speed at the track at 160.577 mph.

Chinese Grand Prix
Nico Rosberg gave Mercedes-Benz its win in the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, but the victory was sweet for more than just Rosberg. It represented Mercedes’ first Formula One win since the 1955 Italian Grand Prix. Mercedes exited F1 shortly after that race, and did not return again until 2009, but it was a significant victory nonetheless, in a field dominated by F1 heavyweights McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, Williams and Sauber. Second and third place were taken by Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton, respectively, both in McLarens.
