i'm not much of a model car painter (or any painter at all actually). theres so much detail that would have to be done just right to look good if i painted a sunstar.... i'm thinking of trying ot get one of the replicas by Action of the Jeff Gordon edition.. that would work (same color). i'm thinking of getting a display case with a checkered flag patter nadn some race cars in the back ground, nice lights and everything in it... i'll post some picture soon of my room which is covered in cars.

I love collecting die cast. I got caught up in the Nascar maze a few years ago buying almost anything I could get my hands on. (BIG mistake)

I finally wised up and chose a couple drivers I liked.
But to me collecting die cast adds another avenue to car collecting.
I try to stick with '57 Chevies and Monte Carlos mainly.
I don't have a whole lot of models. 95% are originals from the 1970s when the Cudas, Challengers, and Chargers were new cars.

This is part of my Monte collection.

rj... I noticed you got a Foose diecast in the last couple pics.

Which Foose car(s) do you have?

All I own is the 1:64th scale Foose Monte. It's what a '70, 71?

Had a chance to buy the 1:24 Foose Monte but I passed on them.

A Foose Monte. Sounds great. I love Foose's work. Incredible talent, and pays attention to every little detail. I think leaving Boyd Coddington's garage was the best thing Foose did.

Sounds like a nice list. A couple of them have me wondering. Like for instance, uh, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT? Why? Had I known you wanted one about 3 weeks ago, you could've had mine.
The main reason would be something like a "then and now" kinda thing... a comparison between the 1974 Grand Am and the 1999 Grand Am because I'm sure a lot of people don't realize that the Grand Amwas introduced for the 1973 model year. Besides, a '99 Grand Am GT with an L67 swap would be one bad *** sleeper. A guy in my car club did that swap with a 94 GA and itpulled 12.88 in the quarter mile last year. It looked like nothing but a grocery getter.
