Yesterday we showed you photos of the Alfa Romeo 4C being built. Now, we have video. Watching how much of this process involves human hands laying up carbon fiber mat is sort of incredible.
It is interesting to note that some of this construction happens at a composite specialty company in the UK, and part of it happens at the Maserati factory in Italy.
Labor intensive? Definitely. Also, fascinating. Rather than the dry, clinical scenes of lots of robots and sparks, there are a lot of technicians and craftsmen, touching the car themselves. Which isn't to say the process isn't high-tech or precise. On the contrary, it seems like a finely tuned process. But there's something … more of a human connection to the end result, maybe. I think this video has changed the way I feel about this car, because now I know where it came from.
And I totally want to drive it now.

Power increased to 415 HP

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->The Alfa Romeo 4C hasn't even gone on sale yet and Pogea Racing already has an aftermarket kit planned for the stylish coupe.
The highlight of the program will be the engine's output increase from 240 HP (176 kW) to an impressive 415 HP (305 kW). It will be possible thanks to new turbochargers, exhaust system with valve control and a different tubular exhaust manifold. Moreover, Pogea Racing will optimize fuel supply and cooling systems.
The aerodynamic body kit is manufactured from carbon fiber, while stock wheels can be replaced by various rims in sizes of 19 or 20 inches. Interior modifications and sporty suspension components are also planned for the 4C in the near future.
