Tightening up a throttle cable?
well i think i need a bit more tension in mine because when i hammer it to get a downshift it doesnt like to do it and it takes sometimes 5 secs for the car to decide to downshift sometimes it does it when i ask any tips to tighten the wire correctly and safely or is my transmission just an asshole

The spring tends to get weak...(dirty corroted) Then clean and replace it...and see if that helps... Or purchase a new TPS... Maybe someone else will chime in with more ideas? |
ill try and clean it im just not sure what to look for to find it

It's not the throttle cable.
Are you doing this at about 40mph? That's a huge dead spot. |

Thats for a 3.8 he has the 3.1 the maf on 3.1 are on the intake tube, locations will be slightly different i'm sure too

I'm thinking, check your trans fluid, make sure you're not low. Low fluid levels can create issues with shifting.

its been checked and fluid in tranny is maybe a year old but it doesnt slip like it used to when hammered either
