Ryan... (slowmontecarlo)...MonteCarlo got totaled Today
 

Today Ryan was in a horrific :eek: accident.
A kid in a ford F-250 Pickup Ran a redlight and slammed into him! Apparently he was hit so hard it knocked him Unconscious!
for a little bit.... Even after talking to him on the phone (He called to let me know what happen) you could tell he was still in "Shock" mode. Still
Fortunately...He's ok... But his Monte Carlo is totaled!!! I just spend the past weekend with him at the Telegraph Cruise.. He's had this MonteCarlo LS for over 10 yrs ... It was a 3.8 SuperCharged LS... This car was unbelieveably clean and he has helped me numerious times with mine. He lives just around the corner from me. We originally met at the W-Body 3800 meet in Royal Oak. This Monte was also Super Fast and a Bad Azz Sleeper! To think he just put all new suspension under it recently:rolleyes: This LS was his baby. That this definitely sucks!!! Ryans a Great Guy...and didn't deserve to have this happen to him!!..He does own a 1999 Black Z-34 that he will be using in the mean time til he can find another NON Michigan Monte to put his Super Charged Motor and Trans into..

Too bad his Monte reached the end of the road. But glad he's okay.

X2 that really sucks to hear, car looked clean as hell. if he were in PA i'd be begging for parts, lol. glad to hear he's OK though!

Thanks Gents for your words and responses...He use to be on MYMONTE.com and has recently joined us here on the forum...
That's probably why you haven't seen him on here very much... (He does work a lot of long hours at his job)
Currently its in the allen pk pd impound...But his long term plan is to part it out... But I know he's not going to part with that supercharged Motor and built up trans... But everything else ... Will be parted out that's salvage able.

I don't like news like this :( , but I was happy to read that `Ryan is OK physically ~> hurt bad mentally :( That's a major loss of a Special 5th gen Monte :( Human `Life is fragile & so are sweet Monte Carlo's on the highways of life...(2 many bad drivers out there)

I hope everything works out for Ryan & that the kid had insurance to help with the loss...Good Luck `Ryan :thumbsup:

Glad Ryan is OK. But I know how I would feel if My Monte was so suddenly taken away from me! My Heart would simply fall out of my chest and stop beating! I feel his pain. :(

I'm glad he's ok, there's too many bad drivers that put good driver's out of a nice car. Especially a Monte.

I'm glad he is okay, he put a lot of time and effort into all the customization of his Monte and it looked great!

If I'm not mistaking wasn't he turbo charged?

WOW!! Thanks for updating us David! I'm sure right now the last thing he wants to do is hope on MCF (as you mentioned, he's still in shock). At least he's OK!!! Cars can be replaced.

Man, what gives!! This year is a BAD year to be a Monte owner. After mine got a hit-n-run, I think 2 others on MCF had issues, I saw a 6th gen that I pass frequently on my ride to/from work now has a messed up front end, I'm sure I'm missing a couple, and then this!!! I don't think I've heard near so much bad luck for Montes in one summer!! :(

Hey guys just wanted to let you all know I am ok. Like Dave said some idiot in a F-250 ran a red light while I was making a Michigan left turn and slammed right into me. I never even seen him coming and didn't stand a chance. So sad all these years working on this car and it comes to this. This past spring alone I put an entire new turbo kit, intake and fuel lines on it along with a full revamp on the suspension. Just pissed off for now but I will get over it and come back even stronger.

It is just a car afterall and I am fortunate to be alright, thanks everyone for the well-wishes. BTW the monte took good care of me these cars are tough, it did knock me out for a split second but I feel just fine today. I did go to the clinic to get checked out and get x-rays too and the doctor said I would be just fine. What a ride though!! RIP slowmontecarlo 2003-2013

Sure do man I'm not gonna let this hold me up, I got love for the 5th gens I do have a 98 Z34 beater I am going to pull out now and start fixing up a bit and also plan to buy a super low mileage and southern rust free 98 or 99 Z34 here in the near future to be a replacement for my turbo car, all the performance stuff will go back on the new car.

wow man, sorry to see your 5th gen all beat up, glad you're ok......I love my 5th gen Z but it needs work and I'm looking to sell it off soon.....But I'd buy another in a heartbeat that was in better shape.......
