its on my 99sl2 i know nothing to do with monte but i might get a few sugestions on here... but i want to replace the rusted out resinator without replacing from the cat back...so i was thinking i would either buy a cherry bomb or some piping to take place of it... main leaning towards the bomb side becuase it may act somewhat like a resinator....tryin to keep this car decently quiet becuase it is the baby go mobile.... i want loud id go to the monte....coments? sugestions?

 

I would see how much the res would cost you compared to the Cherry Bomb. I know they are not known for being quiet ( hence the name BOMB ).

well i will be still running the stock muffler bomb would just take place of the resinaror witch looks just like a bomb...

 

a cherry bomb is probibly gonna be worse than no pipe at all. if its rusted out and is causing a loud exaust leak, see if you can cut out the resinator and replace the pipe with a peice of flexible exaust pipe from any auto parts store. easy to work with, and cheeper than a cherry bomb. we had a similar issue with my moms '00 izuzu trooper, a peice of the pipe rotted out at the end of the header, and you could only get it with a new header... for $600 some odd dollars. for less than $10 of genaric flex pipe, we cut to fit and put it in... no problems so far, its been a year since we did it.

i did that on my 94 scort... w minnesnowta winter and the salt they use it rust out quick...

 

and to clear it up alittle it will be manifor..downpipe..cat..resinator(bomb).pipe to the back..muffler.. resinator is rusted out and needs replacing i just want to do that not the whole pipeback

 

and ryan what your sayin about doing with the flexpipe im planin on doing that with the bomb ....lol ive done the beer can trick more times than i can count

 

reading more and talking to a few people a reaonator is basicly a second muffler to trap more exhaust frequencies

 

took the plung n bought the bomb...30incher... putting it in after work and replacing tires
