RIP: pocono raceway founder Dr Joseph Mattioli
 

thought some of the nascar fans on here might appreciate this, hope it hasin't been posted.

early this week, founder & chairman of Pocono Raceway Dr. Joseph "Doc" Mattioli passed away, at 86 years of age. he was a well known local figure, and an all around nice guy, who donated alot of $ to many local causes & charaties, and will surely be missed.
from what i understand, pocono raceway was also the last privatly owned track on the nascar circut.

i kinda figured the news wouldin't get around much, seems that joe paterno's death really overshadowed doc mattioli's... all week our local news has been jopa this jopa that, oh BTW doc mattioli also passed, now back to jopa... lol. i would have posted sooner but i've had work all week and didin't have time.

RIP to both
