Replacement for the GXP

Replacement for the GXP
Picked up a blue/blue 05 GTO M6 today to replace the totalled GXP. 2 owners, all maintenance records down to the oil changes, all common suspension issues addressed, and only 60k miles. Car is basically stock other than wheels, the shift ****, and an intake. Should make a decent daily driver.
It does have a few minor cosmetic interior issues (mainly just the common saggy headliner), but they should be easy fixes and also helped keep the purchase cost down. The plan is to not really mod it at all. I'll just do a Corsa catback and be done, maybe some long tube headers in the longer term if I want more sound. Crazy how quiet they are stock.

It's an LS2 and is basically totally stock short of a K&N intake tube. It's definitely no rocket ship, but it's plenty for a daily.
I don't really have any plans for this one for now. The intent is to replace the GP GXP which was my daily driver before it got totalled. So it needs to stay reliable and the gas mileage needs to stay reasonable.
I really think just a Corsa Sport catback will satisfy me for now as its way too quiet. Longer term, I wouldnt mind some Kooks long tubes and a tune. Appearance wise, Id like to do the SAP repro front grilles. They're inset a bit and make it look a little more sporty up front.

Good call there; I remember test-driving a blue '04 GTO M6 (but couldn't act on it).
I don't get the all-black wheels, though. Why is this such a big thing these days? It makes the wheel disappear into the tires, which disappear into the wheel wells...
Agree with you on the SAP inset grilles, that'd be a nice touch. I've always liked the '06-type black taillights too, that could be another good cosmetic option.

Thanks everyone! It's been a good car so far, no problems or issues. Seems to get roughly equivalent mileage to the gxp. It obviously doesn't have the DOD, but it does have a really long 6th gear to keep the rpm way down on the highway so it generally seems to be a wash.
It definitely needs some exhaust soon. It's almost strange how quiet it is, even when really pushing it. I love the Corsa sound, but I'm struggling with the price tag for a daily car, especially looking at the % of exhaust price to what the car is worth. Thinking about just a muffler swap as the price would be much more reasonable.
