Default Picked up a new Daily Driver

Yesterday I went up and picked up a new daily driver. I've been driving a lot less because of COVID and working from home full time, and when I am driving the boys to and from daycare, it's starting to get a little annoying in the Camaro. PLUS I really want to have a car that is loud and mean... I miss the Monte and that spot that it filled. So I'm going to get cam + headers + stall etc on the Camaro soon.

So while I run the errands and do small trips, I got myself a brand new 2021 Chevy Spark LS. It's a little 1.4L Ecotec, but it's the perfect size to just take the boys around and to go to some local shops with. On my over 200 mile drive home it averaged 42.8 MPG.

Is it just me or does that battery look enormous?

I get its a small engine bay, but it looks huge for such an extremely small engine to crank.

It's just a 410 CCA, perhaps it's just the angle of the picture making it look extra big?

Yeah, thats probably it - plus that controller mounted next to it and the gigantic positive cover.

Despite the tight engine bay size, that still looks very accessible for maintenance.

Sweet sweet gas mileage man. A buddy of mine got something similar with the 1.4L a couple years back and he loves it.

Time will tell how easy, but so far things all look pretty straightforward to get to. Going to do the 500 mile oil change on it, so we'll see how that goes and how things look underneath too

So far it's a fun little ride! Just gotta take it for what it is and not pretend it's something it isn't

As a gas saving around town car for basic errands/commuting it looks fair enough, especially being brand new, you should get many years of driving out of it
