Default Opinion on a Flat Black Monte..

like the title says.. wondering what you guys think of that color on the 2000-2005 monte? i recently saw a mustang painted flat black and it just looked mean... no other mods done to it, seemed pretty factory.. just flat black...

what do you guys think?

It would have to be done perfectly to look good. And by done perfectly I mean, by a professional which will cost some bucks.

BUDSJLM, its funny you say that, i was talking with my brother about how it would be a for sure thing on a mid 80's Monte...

I also just realized that this has been done/discused before.. i searched on google for a pic., first thing that poped up was a montecarloforum page haha

I like the flat look on off-road vehicles, and golden era muscle. Montes are better glossy, IMO.

I have always loved flat black, but like said previously.... it has to be done just right!

Not sure about "flat" black. More of a "satin" or "suede" finish would look sweet, though. Rick is spot on. It has to be perfect, or else it just looks like a garage primer job.

I thought the point of flat black WAS to look like a garage primer job. Ever see those fake painted rusty hoods?

Well, worse comes to worse.. spend an other 300$ on paint to shoot it glossy haha...

I'm REALLY debating, but you guys are pushing me towards glossy, the car is white right now so its gonna be a real pain (get inside the door, fenders.. etc..)

Just a small project eh

I think it would look pretty sick so long as it had other mean/aggressive mods to match, like lowered on oversized rims and all murdered out. The flat black can't be the only mod to an otherwise stock car, that would look corny.
