My Weekend
I took friday off. My last personal day off work for 2010. Now it's 6 long months till I get anther day off. I mean besides weekends. It was a half way decent day. Got a few things done.
Did I mention before about 2 weeks ago I had OnStar scan the '06 Monte? They said their back up battery was dead. Which makes the 3rd time. I keep the car connected to a battery charger that I use regularly. To keep the car's battery up. I think most of you know the car sets more then anything. So yesterday I had the charger going. For most of the day. About 10 pm I was doing some things in the barn and decided to start the '06 Monte. The @#$%^&* car battery was dead. :( How can this be? I charged it most of the day. I even made sure the charger was on the correct settings. And that it was still connected to the battery as needed. But it didn't matter. The car would not start. And as soon as I turned the charger on again, the car lights and dash lights all came back up. I also know the dealer will want me to bring the car down there so they can check it. Most likey, they'll make me bring the car back yet another time so they can repair it. So there goes another 40 miles just running to the dealership 2 times. Truthfully. I'm ready to give up on the OnStar system. I mean I pay them monthly for what? the car sets 99.9% of the time. It would take some doing to steal the car. It's in the back of the barn in the corner. I just hope the car battery is covered under that extended warranty I paid for? :( |
I like the whole OnStar concept, but I'd never use it so I never subscribed. I never bothered upgrading to the digital either because I didn't want another antenna attached to my car. Toyota's need OnStar for help when the accelerator sticks or the brakes fail.
I'd lose the OnStar rj |

I'd lose the OnStar rj I think you should just get rid of the OnStar too. Unplug the thing. |
hi RJ. I agree with kidspace. On my Chevelle that sits most of 6 months of the Minn winters. I've never had a problem with my battery. I use the battery tender all yr. never have to worry about a thing. Starts up everytime. A great investment. Doing that for over 25 yrs. Did it with my Motorcycle batterys also.
