Hi `Mike,
The only advice I can think of from my tired mind is to not park your rides under, or around any trees that could get water/logged & fall. I hope your insurance cover's damage.

Also, I hope you have supplies, like flashlights/candles & food. I will be praying for you & all...I have endured many of these storms & they are powerful. Florida dodged the big bullet on this one...We did have damage & flooding, but it's grown such more powerful...

Wish you & member's in the path the best 4-Sure...Try to keep us updated when time permits until the storm goes back out to sea & departs the USA

I parked as far away from anything that I could, but around here there are so many trees!

The 98 Camaro doesn't have insurance on this stuff, the Monte is fully covered.

I'm just hoping for the best

Good Morning to all. Sitting here at work, plant is down with problems so no asphalt to lay. Really cold and somewhat windy. They are saying we may get some of the snow here from Sandy but not enough to matter. Late week warm up coming.... I could just go home but $$ keeps me here..Good luck all you guys in the storm's path.

I use to be a Floboy driver...(Loved that Job)! Til the accident prevented me from being able to do it any longer...

I know it does!...God how I miss the sites, sounds and smells of Paving with ashphalt....

I saw guys at the plants that also did your job...So, yes they were running there butts off the whole time we would be running...Especially when we were repaving sections of highways round the clock from Friday thru Monday am!...

One thing about Asphalt..theres to many roads to be repaved etc...
I guess in these times it good to have some job security...roads will always need repairs...especially here in Michigan! (to much clay)

But I do know indiana has some killer smooth roads!

Indiana gives us a bonus if they are smooth. They run a profilograph over them that measures it all. Also, a 5% bonus if the mix is really good. That's my job to get that %5 extra. I have been doing this for 17 years now, getting old but what else will pay me union laboror scale? Not much around here.
