Moderator Barb/P343's last run
 

It is still hard to believe we lost our friend Barb/P343 recently to cancer. For those who remember Barb, she was not just a Monte enthusiast, but she did her own wrench work and had a passion for racing her '84 Monte Carlo.

Recently her daughter Melanie Nicole Myers sent me a video and asked I share it with Barb's friends. Attached is Barb's last run with her '84 Monte down the drag strip.

Pretty Cool! I met Barb at the National Monte Carlo show in Bowling Green, KY in 2015, along with some of the other MCF members. She was cleaning up he Monte Carlo then. At the time I was stationed for work in Tennessee, and it was a 3 to 4 hour drive up there. She talked about her drag racing stuff. I miss her message conversations. :( She always wanted to a video of me as Dale riding down the Drag Strip, she thought she may be able to scare me. :nono:
Among the many racing things I have done drag racing was a lot of fun, I shared some stories with her about the Chevelle I raced back in the 70's as well as the Z/28 I raced also. Fun Stuff for sure I am fortunate to have survived all that fun.

Barb's Monte Carlo sounds so mean, that lady had a sweet build, great job honey!

I'm trying to picture her demeanor, helmet on, heating up the tires, staging and green light... off she goes down the track, sounding all business like. Visual of her and the Monte fades away, the sound of the motor roars on.

I imagine the track never ends and Barb jets off into the great unknown, her helmeted face shield reflecting the stars as they rush by, take her to warp speed 5 Barbara, your destiny awaits as your tail lights fade to black for those of us watching your final run video.

Love the sound of her car. Great last ride. Thanks for sharing Jason.

All of us have great memories of Barb. She touch the lives of many and gave so much of herself.

I am happy her daughter shared this video so we could all enjoy it.
