Default Might be a weird question but...

I personally LOVE the 87 GNX and i was wondering if anyone tried makeing a tribute car to one of the 00-05 gen montes. I think it would look cool. If I wouldve found a black SS thats what I wanted to do and eventually put on a turbo and build it to factory specs of the original GNX. Besideds the RWD of course So if anyone has seen any or has pics, post em here!!!

I think it's a terrible idea :p

SLP is going to make a tribute to the GNX though. And already the critics are mad because they are taking an iconic car and making it a FWD.

I'm not really sure what your asking? The Monte is already all blacked out like the GNX and if you put a modern intercooled turbo on it I think you'll already have more then the 270 something horse power the GNX had.

I don't think I would personally try to make a Monte in2 a tribute to a Buick GNX, but that's what great about freedoms, each person can do what they want to do to their ride...You should do it, if that is your desire...

I'd prefer to make a tribute to any of the generations of the aweseome Chevy Monte Carlo

Or, you could save & get a GNX I just checked the asking prices of a few on the Web ~> WoW, expensive, but nice 4-Sure...I like them, but not that much ~> BIG $'s...

Are you talking about taking a Monte turboing it and then putting GNX badges on it? That would be a bad idea - you are better off taking a new GS Buick and beefing that up - too bad they don't make a coupe or RWD.

Great link Chibi I enjoyed that. I love the body style of the orginal GNX so I'm not sure what I'd think if much of the modern take on it.

They shure do hold their value! My dad was telling me that when the GNX first came out and they were all sold, he'd look in the papers and see people selling them for 40k and up The 87 GNX had always been my dream car so who knows, maybe one day ill either buy one or find a 00-05 monte SS in black and work with that
