Oh wow! Thank you guys!!

Been a pretty busy birthday... I'm celebrating on Saturday. I don't have Monday or Friday classes, and only have a night class on Wednesday... that results in busy Tuesday and Thursdays!!!

I got up this morning ealyr, couldn't go to sleep, so I went for my run anwyay. I checked the computer at 9:00 a.m., had 9:30-3:00 straight classes, left after my last class on the way home, then went back to Raleigh with my parents for my brithday dinner, and had some things to attend to this evening when we got back home!!!

But I'm trying not to let it keep me down. I've still had a great birthday, and I'm going to have a great birthday and labor day weekend!!!!

Since you guys offered up some birthday wishes for me, I'll post afew birthday pictures.

Got a trophy for the Torino today.. .Top 25 at an all Ford show in Henderson ,NC today.

Then for my presents... got a 1965 Ned Jarrett Ford Galaxy, a 1984 Bill Elliott Thundebird commemorating this first superspeedway win, a t-shirt (pictured, see for yourself), also got some running shorts, 1001 Automotive Tech Tips book, a shamwow, and a cake....

My brother, his wife, 2 nieces, and nephew were all over for a small gathering.

Well the race cars are 1:24's... and yeah, the picture on the cake is the car sitting on the start/finish line at Martinsville.

Just wondering here, did you actually wear a tie to the car show?

Well, I wasn't going to share that story but.... the neighbors husband died on Wednesday in the nursing home.. he had been battling brain cancer for 10 years. The funeral was Saturday. So I took the car to the car show that morning, my mom picked up my dad and I, then we changed clothes, went to the funeral, and straight back to the car show from their. Their wasn't as big of a crowd as expected, and they were handing out trophies nearly and hour early... I got there just in time to hear my name called.

So yeah, I wore a neck tie to the car show... but only to look presentable when they game the trophy I guess.... since it worked, maybe I'll wear a neck tie to all car shows henceforth.

Awesome cake! Sorry I missed this thread and your birthday Duane, but happy b-lated and congrats! I think the tie is a cool idea and could even be considered a tribute to your neighbor

The necktie is your good luck charm now. Now you have to wear it to every show for the rest of your days. lol.
