Default had to do what I had to do

unfortunately a few weeks ago my old truck decided it was gonna finally give up the gremlins in it and died.. figured out a new wire harness would fix her right up but then got to thinking it was a 86 with 397,000 miles on her.. she ran well but was tired.. so i sought out a new truck after scouring the local yards for a decent low milage harness.. none were found and a new one was another 800 i didnt feel justified to put in to the truck.. talked it over to the wife and with money right now couldnt afford payments on the house, monte, her mustang etc.. and a new truck... went to local chevy dealer and was looking at a 09 1500 ext cab silverado with the 4.3 it was 22,500 on lot salesman lowered to 14,900 which figured wasnt bad until i told him wanted to trade the monte towards it.. he then told me chevy's arent worth their weight dollar for pound???? yet you want me to buy your truck but tell me the bowtie on mine means it isnt worth anything.. well took it for a weekend to see if i liked it. I went to another local dealer to see what trade in would be just in case I didnt like it... 10,500... i told him thanks, took the 1500 back and got my monte.. went in to where I work and management didnt want to seem to sell a truck to me for some reason.. (have looked at 3 cars on lot and bought all 3) so went to a friend at f.o.r.d (splitting it up as I know in some areas it is a blocked word... lol) ended up in their last brand new 08' F-150 .. basic work truck.. no frills but I did get the 5.4 triton.. truck sticker was 22,999 got in it for 11,100... went to another dealer during weekend try before I buy and trade in was 16,100.. so I got it with intentions if i didnt like it would be able to make some money off the deal... hate to say it but it is a very smooth truck.. they gave me 6yr 60k bump to bump warranty, first 3 years all maintenance paid, free inspections and tire rotations for life, 7 year roadside assistance and a check for 800 so I can get sat radio and a nice stereo installed... I couldnt refuse.... so right now no more monte.. but once things get better I will buy another.... I'lll still float in from time to time to check in... but thought I could give yall an update since havent been around due to working two jobs and helping take care of my grandmother who was injured pretty badly in a fall last sept.. (she's ok getting better and stronger by the min and soon will move out from my moms and be back nextdoor in her own house very soon)

we have a ford f-350 dually and a chevy silverado 1500 dually as work trucks, and i'd drive the ford over the chevy any day of the week and twice on tuesdays. so. ford does make good trucks. not that chevy doesn't but i definitely like our ford better.

sorry to hear about your grandmother, best wishes to her on getting better and back on her own soon!
