Looks like a cool movie. :)

But here's the sign of a true car guy. First thing that came to mind while watching that trailer? I wonder how badly they destroy that vintage Challenger?

I don't know about any of you. But I can't enjoy a movie with classic cars or expensive cars in them. Because 99.99999% of the time, that car (and about a dozon or so back-ups used for re-takes or stunts) was destroyed.

But the movie itself looks good. I'd go see it. When is it supposed to come out?

nowadays they dont destroy the cars.. it's mostly CGI anymore. I was watching movie magic last night and they were showing how the iron man 2 movie was made and at one point the director said to the CGI guy that the suit in a specific frame sucked and that he wanted him to re-do that part of the movie. The CGI guy chuckled and said to the director, "That's the REAL suit" HAHAHAHAHA!! The CGI suit looked better than the real thing.. all i could do was laugh and say wow..

I know CGI is the majority of every movie now. But I'm talking about car chase scenes. Car chases are the death of many cars.

In that aspect the cars they destroy aren't even the actual cars anymore. In order to keep costs down they make a pseudo car or replicar with a tube frame and aluminum panels. It's mostly just a shell with a roll-cage and an engine. They don't really destroy the really nice cars in movies anymore.. Not as much as they used to anyways. Now some movies do, like the Aston in the newest bond movie. That wasn't even in production yet so they couldn't get a mock-up car or a junked pre-wrecked car to play with. That was an actual "new" Aston they trashed in that movie. I'm sure there are more like that but, from what i understand from a few friends in the movie biz, they try like hell not to trash the nicer vehicles. I've asked this question a million times myself being a gear head. Especially in the fast and the furious when they destroyed the charger.. My heart sank when it hit and crushed.
