Cadillac is bringing a new generation of V6 engines to the market. Along with them come better efficiency and more power. Cadillac’s CT6 range-topper will debut a brand new twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 engine that puts out 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The first of its kind, the T-T V6 will also feature cylinder deactivation and stop/start tech in efforts reduce fuel consumption. Cadillac is saying MPGs will improve by up to 9 percent, but we’ll see about that.
Sitting below the turbocharged version will be the base 3.6-liter V6. Output will be 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, which is 14 horsepower and nine lb-ft better than the current engine used on the Cadillac CTS. Also available to pair with these new engines will be a new paddle-shift, eight-speed automatic transmission.

If you read our previous post about the CT6, you’re probably thinking that I’m a liar and a hack right about now for telling you that this car would be getting a twin-turbo V8, not a V6. And with this news, that’s understandable. But I want you to keep one thing in mind: there’s still the possibility of the CT6-V.
“The lightweight body structure allows us to achieve formidable performance even with a twin-turbo V-6,” Cadillac CEO Johan de Nysschen previously said. “Imagine how this car would perform with a twin-turbo V-8.” Those still sound like pretty good odds to us so never say never.
