Funny for-sale term translations for Craigslist
 
"Ran when parked" = "Engine seized".
"Needs fuel pump" = "Engine seized, rod hanging out of block".
"Needs starter" = "No engine".
"No lowballers" = "I am desperate for money".
"I know what this is worth" = "I am REALLY desperate for money".
"Testing waters" = "Every atom in my being is shrieking with need for money".
"Don't need to sell" = "Already sold one kidney, they won't buy the other one". :rotfl:


"Text only" = Communication is impossible.
"Phone calls only" = Communication is impossible.
"Good title" = The word "Title" scrawled in crayon on a paper plate, seller's name not on it.
"No title" = Stolen.
"Needs TLC" = Full of dirty syringes, possible murder victim in trunk. :eek:

"Rare" = "I think it is worth twenty times actual value".
"Head turner" = Hideous.
"Original" = Wood screws are attaching a Pep Boys hood scoop to the decklid.
"Gas saver" = Miserable.

"JDM" = Cannot be registered in North America.
"Will trade for tattoo work" = Pontiac
"Comes with three spare engines" = Mitsubishi
"Emaculent" = So many air fresheners that the skin will peel off your face.


Yeah, if you've spent some time going thru Craigslist ads, you know how it is! :D

Funny and some are so true. I hate when people say "No low ballers" and "I know what this car is worth". Unless I really want that car, it typically goes to the bottom of my list to look at (as it does not give me an inviting "come look at my car" feel).

I also don't like "head turner" when used in a for sale add, 90% of the time I feel it's a case of "I spent a lot of time and/or money to make this car very ugly to everyone but me". The other 10% are people who have a true mint condition car that is old and hard to find in that condition any more, it's a "head turner" because it was impressive in it's day, now it's uncommon to be seen.
