Good Morning All! Happy Friday!

I am looking forward to my long weekend! I was supposed to have a 5 day weekend, but I was now asked to please come in on Wednesday. So guess i'll be happy with a 4 day weekend instead.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun New Years.

I learned last night that the house I grew up in, where my mother currently lives, nearly blew up with her and others inside it. I guess she left for work after she thought she smelled some gas and didn't think anything of it. When she came back that night, she and her roommate could still smell it. Mom was debating whether to call the gas company then or in the morning. She decided arbitrarily to call then, just in case. When they arrived, the guy told her she needed to get out immediately and a few minutes later, fire trucks, police cars, and a hazmat team showed up. Mom gathered up the pets and went to a nearby gas station to wait it out while they dug around the property for a while. Not sure what the cause of it was yet, but the house is a good 40 years old. Fortunately everything is ok for now. I hate to think the story I'd be telling if she'd only waited until morning to call...

Just a friendly reminder that if you smell gas, DON'T take any chances.

^ glad to hear she did the right thing and called the gas co. i worked for a company that sub-contracted for the gas company in NJ, PA & MD, and gas leaks are no joke. the company started working in PA cleaning up the big gas explosion in allentown a few years ago, took out more than a couple blocks of houses & bisnesses.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't go to the neighbors and evacuate them too. Now my mother's going to have to explain to them that her house almost blew up and took them with it, I'm sure that will help them sleep at night... NOT
I am thinking the cause may have likely been a combination of age and below-zero temperatures. Hopefully it's not found to be mom's fault, or that will be an expensive repair.

Howdy all, should be starting to really get into weight training and fitness today with an inspirational friend of mine, a real role model. Being a skinny kid can only last so long, ya know? Haha, I hope to carry some of the knowledge into next semester. He's been teaching me a lot and directing me to loads of information. Life transformation here I come.
