that is never a good way to start a long weekend, or any day for that matter.

Well I replaced the battery on Sunday, and then drove it to a shop to get the plugs and fuel leak fixed.
I've spent more money than I have wanted to, and now I guess the alternator is the real problem.

Sorry `Mike, it's those unexpected cost that can ruin a good thing.Is it the original alternator ? (if, so ?), it got a good run. Yes, sadly it cost to mod a older ride, but it's a test of your love/loyalty for the Monte you love.
You can't afford now to get a divorce
It's been a great Monte to you & you must continue your love & invest your $'s to keep it the best it can `be...Good Luck & I hope this is your last major problem...
I had just got rid of a couple of them when I moved too.I think one was from a 6 gen.If I still had it I'd give it to ya.I'll look through my spare parts an see if it's still there.
