The local muffler shop I went to said they get a lot of Montes and Impalas with rotten resonators. They always rust out at the top. Where the heat shield is welded to the resonator. Condensation sits in there, and rusts it out. So apparantly it's common on Montes and Impalas.

yeah seems like it would get trapped in there, of course with salt on roads in the winter prob dosnt help it any, mine nvr rotted out i just took it off to get a diff sound lol

I would love for someone to call that 2000 "Earnhardt edition" out. Ask the seller what exactly makes it an Earnhardt edition? Like Lou said, just because it's black doesn't make it an Earnhardt edition. Especially when it's a 6th gen 3.4 litre LS.

I know Dale Earnhardt made some customized Montes at his dealership; and signed them by hand. But those were 5th gens, and had obvious visual customizations. That 2000 is simply a factory LS.
