Default COVER ASSEMBLY - INTERIOR MANIFOLD. Engine Cover. Trim cover.

Does anyone know where I might get the cover that went on Monte Carlo 3.8 or how much did cost? I took car in for service a while back & did not look to make sure was there. I open the hood today & it was gone. I am pissed off. I am making them look at the video to see who took it off for no reason to take off for an oil change or to replace my battery. My car is a 2000 Team TAZ pace Car & got it from the original owner after passed. He was the 1 CHevy deal in NC. The extended tube was still on so the person who changed the oil at the shop did not know what was doing.

This isnt going to be what you wanna hear but they probably took it as instructed by GM. They claim its a fire hazard. Its been talked about here many many times. It sucks I know and a really sh** move if you ask me.

I agree. Did you ever have the recall performed? Perhaps they saw it hadn't been done and knocked it out during the oil change, including keeping the cover.

I also hate to say it but it's probably long gone. I really doubt they're going to put any real effort into looking at the cameras, especially for an item GM says shouldn't be on there. Even if they do find the person, its probably been disposed of long ago.

You can sometimes find them on ebay or at a junkyard.

Yep they trashed it. I see them all the time at the U pull or U wrench it. That would be a source to replace it.

Ya, I hope not gone for they kept the tube extender there which was part of the recall I was told. You bring the car in one way & bring out another. I normally watch but since was cold I did not. I also normally check before closing the engine up but with the virus, they do not allow you. My own fault but I want them to find it & replace what the car came in with. Shame for I been going to them for over 10 years they are like family.

I'm surprised to hear that, I generally DIY everything but have been to a few dealers recently for warranty work and such on my wife's Edge. None of them will let customers anywhere near the shop area for liability reasons. If they've got something to show you, they'll take some pictures and pull it up on the computer in the office / service advisor area.

I totally get it, they left the splash shield off in my GP GXP years ago when it was in for a water pump. Luckily I noticed it before I left the parking lot and they were able to locate it.

You'll have a tougher situation I'd bet given it sounds like its been awhile.

The one upside is there are a ton on ebay under $100 shipped of every style. So even if they come to a dead end, maybe at least they'll kick you some cash to get a replacement yourself.

Hey hi, so I have the actual Monte Carlo 3.8 covers. The Impala, Pontiac 3.8's are different etc. LMK if you want to talk numbers... Have not seen one on eBay in a minute, getting scarce. Have 3 nice ones.

Love to know how much it is a 2000. I waiting for them to get back to me & at least if I know how much I going to make them pay for it if they show they lost it & that was not stolen off my car, which not sure how would steal since the alarm is on all the time that I am not in the car.
