can u do a donut without posi?

i wanna know if i can do a donut or at least a 180 from a dead stop with my car even tho it is an open diff. reason i ask is because i got a guy with a 03 mustang GT4.6 to do it, and he said he wants to see me do it. im gonna try either way but i wanna know if i can lol. the car has enough power to keep the wheel spinning without using the brake

its definetely gonna take some practice, i dont know if my magnum has posi or not, but it will do it, so i would imagine with some practice you could do it with your monte too, just try in empty parking lots first

You don't need a posi rear to do a donut in your Monte. (not real sure why you'd want to treat such a nice car that way?)

And not that I talk from experience, mind you.

there isn't really such a thing as a positive traction anymore. what there is now is a limited slip differential... it has a spider gear in it... if your'e going straight it goes straight.. if you take a corner the wheels adjust some for you.....

an open differential will make littletono noise at high speed around a corner

a postivie traction will have a constant squeel noise (sqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

a limited slip will have a coming and going sound (chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp)

well... the tires squeel the whole way most of the time if you're going fast enough... it's difficult to explain on here what i'm trying to say. a limited slip going around a corner will speed up a wheel and slow down another to help you around a corner.. a posi trac means the wheels are both spinning hte exact same speed all the time... so usually in the smallest of corners one wheel is spinning.

you probably got a limited slip or an open differntial.

You only need to get the rear of the car (not the rear end) to cut loose to do a donut.

It will help the car do this if you're in say grass, gravel, snow, mud, etc.

A little advice on how.
From a dead stop, nail the gas pedal. Once the car starts to move turn the steering one direction or the other then immediately spin the wheel the opposite direction. the should get the rear of the car to come around for you.

Practice in an open field, or parking lot where yoy have lotsof room.
