Campbell University Prank: Flaming Boats in Pools

Basically, police are searching Campbell University for Batman and Robin for setting fire to a swimming pool.

This is a Christian, Baptist campus, by the way.

We have had this cardboard boat race for a couple of years. This year, a couple showed up dressed as Batman and Robin with a boat. On their return trip, for no apparent reason, they abandon ship, only for everyone to find out that there were fireworks in the boat that would set the boat ablaze, while Batman and Robin fled into the woods surrounding the Johnson Natatorium.

This is the most epic thing to ever happen at our school for about 3500 students since SoulForce caused a big crap last year over gay rights at this campus, and the David Cook concert from my freshman year.

Holy flaming boats on water, batman!

Follow up edit: The two people responsible have been apprehended, and charged with public endangerment, attempted arson, and given a $200,000 fine, AND expelled from Campbell University indefinitely...... these two people ruined their lives for a prank.

Sad that happened and they got over reacted on. They turned themselves in and I saw no harm in the prank.

I guess Campbell was scared their building would get burned down. All that water, and we can't put out a fire. What a college we are.

It's supposebly something baout the chlorine in hte water that let the fire keep burning. I do disagree abotu the danger. If the thing driften ashore, or embers of the fire hit something elsewher,e it could have burned the whole building down. The flames got higher and higher,smoke filled the room, and the fallout of the ifre closed the pool because it had to be drained and refilled. I'll keep an eye on the papers for news.

$200,000 fine is abit to much. Fire did't look to Bad....

Did you fastforward to the very end.... that fire filled up the whole building with smoke!!! And it was pretty high at the end.....

smoke damage is a problem, guess I am getting old I didn't see the humour in the prank.

lol I am not saying I didn't pull a few pranks in college, just that I am getting old now. We used to ride garbage cans down the hills and formed racing teams. Races started at midnight.
