Default Bad Gas and Good Gas...

A while ago I started having a problem I thought was my transmission.... My car would literally jump into gear. Well I noticed it went away when I went to a different gas station.. So I did an experiment.

Everytime I took my car to BP I had this problem.
When I went to SA my car ran like brand new....
I went to the corner gas station by my apt, and I had similar problems, but not as bad as BP.

My conclusion is that SA has better gas.

Anyone have any similar stories? Or have any idea why this happens?

Does your gas from SA have 10% ethanol in it?

Do you have the stock Cat?

I don't think they have 10% ethanol, I'm sure I would have noticed some sort of sign that said so...

Yeah stock cat

Only thing that I can think is that your car isn't liking ethanol?

Or your stock cat is starting to clog, I know jerking can be cause of the cat sometimes.

SO close to a memorable Sig Line AND a new euphemism... "Jerking the cat!"

Yeah the entire car jerks really hard when it does.... it's really funny that it doesn't happen when using a different gas station... I think that "invigorate" in the BP gas may actually cause damage =\

Is there a way I can unclog it? I was thinking maybe the fuel filter was to blame for the difference in how the car handles the gas.

Is it from all the BP stations you've gone to, or just the one? Could be just that particular gas station. Maybe something in their tanks?

Apparantly BP is damaging your car in addition to the gulf coast.

If you need to replace your cat, maybe think about doing a high flow cat with an aftermarket exhaust of your choice.

That's because BP Gasoline now contains up to 30% ocean water from the Gulf of Mexico. Some cars don't respond well to it.

If you get your Cat tested, and it's faulty, they can usually be replaced for free because of special emissions warranties
