Automatic shifter replacement?

I've never replaced an automatic shifter before.
Does anyone know if it's possible to change my original out to this?

Yes its possible. I dont remember how, but I changed the one in my last monte.

The bottom part of that knob will bolt to the shifter "shaft" then the top (round part) will act as the button, youll push down on it then select your gear.

EDIT: I had the same style of knob...

I swapped mine for the leather-wrapped one from a bonneville.

It's the same T-Shaped shift knob, but it's so much nicer than the stock plastic one.

Same and totally agree. The leather shifter is a quick, easy and nice mod. You can get a black one from Bonnevilles and Grand Ams (have to watch, Pontiac had BLACK and they had a dark gray in bad light that looked black).
