RE: any harry potter fans?
i went yesterday about 8 pm, waited till 12:00:01 to get it, there was an insane amount of people there for it, the entire chapters store was full, the line went through every single isle of the store and then out the door about 200 ft, it was crazy, probably a couple thousand people @ this one store....i was about 15th or so in line, so i didn't have to wait to long for it, was out of the store by 12:10am
now i just gotta sit down and read the book

I got it! I finished reading it!
No spoilers, but best book yet! Too bad it's the last one.... I hear in europe a teen help line has an option for ppl depressed about the ending of the series.... I mean seriously!
Picked it up at about 9:45 pmon Saturday(right before they close) and not a single person was in line. Something like 8.5 million copies traded hands that day! I can't imagine what the sales by the week will be! I wasn't desperate enough to wait in line at midnight. Read the first one when I was 16, in 1998, so couldn't help but want to finish the series. Finished it at about 11 PM on Sunday.
Wiz, like you I'm glad I didn't "stumble" upon any spoilers before I read it. But with a book this heavily hyped, you have to expect it. There's always someone out there that's gotta mess it up for everyone else. Can you imagine if a fan read just the last chapter in the store and announced the outcome to the line!? It'd start a riot I'm sure!
