Default 5th Gen Monte Auction Video

Not a regular viewer of Hoovie, but I see he picked up a 5th gen on a recent video:

I really love the NASCAR video projections on the rear quarter. Wish I would've went to that BJ auction, I didn't realize GM was offloading more of their heritage collection. Usually the early in the year auction is their big one. Looked like quite a few 5th and 6th gens.

A few thoughts:
-I never knew how big the controllers were for those strobes. They had a giant rack in the trunk for all of the controllers. I wonder if they do the same in police cars.

-I wonder how they came up with that HP figure/ what was done to it? I saw the exhaust, but didnt really notice any other mods. Given it's not sold to the public, they can probably say whatever # they want. Didn't even seem like they tuned it given the CEL was for rear O2 which clearly doesn't exist.

-I'm surprised they delete the cat / make custom exhaust for these (with what looks to be huge piping). Not like the extra few horsepower would really matter all that much.

-Wish they had more info on what was done to the fenders. Sounded like a very subtle widebody, but they didnt really show much detail on them.

I'm a fan and regular viewer of Hoovie. Tyler Hoover of Hoovie's Garage on youtube bought one of the 2 race used pacecars. I also saw on The Car Wizard's youtube channel that GM put a N/A 3800 series II engine in the car, with no cat and a tune to get it up to 238-ish horsepower. Specifically for use on the track during the race.

It was really nice to see that the GM Heritage center took very good care of the car. Doing proper maintenance on it throughout the years.

I'm really hoping Hoovie doesn't do his usual shenanigans and go baja-ing through mud, or blow the engine on a track somewhere. Hopefully Hoovie gives it a good home.
