I know there's been quite a bit of speculation and interest in this car lately, so here's the actual 2014 Chevrolet SS. The new car is being introduced at Daytona this weekend. 6.2-liter LS3 V8 pushing 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive; Chevrolet's first rear-wheel drive sedan in 17 years. Near 50/50 weight distribution. Four piston Brembo brakes out front and single sliding in the rear. To go on sale late this year with a price expected to start around $38k.

With the limited production number of this car, I figured GM would've (or should've) gone all out with it. I mean, they are just producing enough cars in order to use the name in Nascar, right?

 

I dont think Nascar has a set number anymore, it could be fwd 4cyl for all they care, GM had a chance & missed it imo, it has the same power as the GXP G8 but i think its heavier so itll be slower

 

Eh, yeah I guess I was expecting more out of this car as well. Visually it's just, alright. It looks better than I thought it would but nothing extraordinary about it. Some of the design just looks generic or outdated but I figure that's because we've seen this car before in the Pontiac G8. I don't know, maybe it will grow on me more?

Well it is essentially a Holden Commodore. Which is what the G8 was. This is just the 2014 model.

When I said production numbers, I didn't mean horsepower or performance. I meant production number. Like 4.000 cars for example. I thought Nascar had a rule that the manufacturer had to produce at least a certain amount of street versions available for sale to the public, in order for the name to be used in Nascar. Is it still like that?
