100 amp service??

Looking at buying this rental property and didn't see any numbers on the main breaker. Not sure if you can tell just by looking, hoping that since it is breakers, instead of fuses that it may be 100. House was built in 1970. Don't want to install a new box and breakers.Thanks.

Being built in 1970, it would either be 100 amp or 60 amp. Most likely 100 amp though.

If I'm not mistaken...the house is actually 20 amp service...
But equates to 110 voltage at the plugs.
As an avid camper...you need to know what service to plug into.
A home built in the 70's.. Is a non issue as far as your electrical outlets..
You may want to check for GFI plugs for the kitchen and bathroom.(GFI is ground fault interrupt)

I don't know about Indiana. But here in Ontario, Canada there was a brief amount of time in the 1970's when aluminum wiring was approved and installed in new houses built in the 70's. It was later found in the 80's to be unsafe and was banned from future use. However...

Houses that already had it installed didn't have to change it unless they wanted to. At their own expense. Around here, home buyers have to watch out for aluminum wiring in houses built in the 70's.

I don't think you have it in Indiana though.
