The Ford Mustang, Hyundai Genesis, and Volkswagen Golf are the three finalists for North American Car of the Year. http://images.newcartestdrive.com/wp...y-finalist.jpgThe Chevrolet Colorado, Ford F-150, and Lincoln MKC are finalists for North American Truck of the Year. The awards cover all the variants of each model. For example, the Volkswagen Golf includes Golf GTI, Golf TDI, Golf TSI. The journalists will vote for the ultimate winners just after the new year, which will be announced January 12 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The winners will be kept secret by Deloitte & Touche until then. http://images.newcartestdrive.com/wp...y-finalist.jpgWhen voting, the jurors are instructed to compare the vehicles against other vehicles in their class, not against other nominees. So the Lincoln MKC would not be compared against the Ford F-150, for example. Vehicle are expected to be judged on criteria including design, safety, fuel economy, handling and general roadworthiness, performance, comfort, assembly quality, functionality, technical innovation, driver satisfaction and price.
