Original owner-03 monte ss has questions

Hi!
New member here-My victory red ss is approaching 117,000 miles.Has needed hardly any repairs
except for new intake gasket-tires-brakes-tranny pan drop and refill 2x -serp belt-coolant change etc.
Fantastic reliable sharp looking car..still!
So what to watch out for in future? struts-front end-???
Car not as tight as new but still very safe to drive everyday.
After looking at newer cars for a month I came to the conclusion that I already have what I like AND its mine :)
Would like to make it feel newer again in the suspension/ride quality area.Any ideas?
Sure would like some input as I am not a mechanic but am very pro maintenance.
Input appreciated!
Thx

Engine Strut mounts is good I just replaced mine. They attach to the Front radiator support and the engine. 4 pieces if you do both of them.
Plugs and wires.
Air Cleaner every Oil change or a KN and clean it every oil change. I use a full synthetic oil.
Front Struts if you drive at speed on rough streets in town. Rear Struts if they are noisy.

You can change out the fuel filter and put in some fuel system cleaner now and them, I use Lucas it will actually up the gas mileage a bit.
All wheel alignment if you are experiencing a pull to one side or the other of the car.

After that you should be good till it needs brakes again.

Engine strut mounts? Is this a routine matainance item?

Welcome to the forums , the engine struts are a wearing part. Basically a rubber and steel mount that absorbs engine torque, rubber gets detererated and allows excessive engine movement.

This is a pretty complete list of the common items people are concerned with on these cars at 100k:

It's not everything, just some of the big highlights.

I attached a photo and circled the Strut mount in yellow. get them at Rock Auto dot com and put them on yourself for about $50.00 all 4 items.

I used to have an all yellow 03 SS. In 2010 I had 150k miles on that car when some lady turned in front of me and totaled it. So 117k miles in 2018 is doing pretty good. Right before mine was totaled I rebuilt the front control arms with all new bushings, etc. I did a fuel filter replacement as well - that is located on the driver side of the car below the back seat window. I had the catalytic converter replaced due to it being clogged thus very low power - that was somewhere between 100-150k miles. I also had a bad rear wheel hub that was replaced.
