Noob buying an 84 SS, what to know

My wife and I have been wanting an 84 style SS since before we got married (11 years ago). Last Monday on my way taking my daughter to school, I passed an 84 SS for sale in our neighborhood. We went to look at it. It runs and drives great. Interior is near perfect, and body is perfectly straight with no dents or dings, just needs some paint and TLC. Only thing found wrong is the A/C is out (no biggie, easy fix). My question is this, are there any know issues that this year has? This ones engine and transmission were re-built 4 years ago, and maybe has 1000 miles on it since. We are buying it from the second owner for $2000, and she has agreed to let us pay on it until we get our taxes back and pay it in full. We are very excited, it sounds so good, and will set there and idol perfectly for ever. Any help is appreciated, I am mechanicaly inclined to the engines (chevy 305) so not too worried, just wondering if there is that one problem that all of them have.....

Welcome to MCF Jay... I can't think of anything that I have ever heard about that model Monte, but I have no personal experience with them. I think this is a question better left to our members with the same style.
