Welcome to the MC Forum, Good luck with your Bargain, I was at a you pull yard last Friday and there were several MC's that had an interior. There was another guy on here that had bought an 02 or 03 MC for like $200 bucks and he got it all done up nice. I think his forum name is 200dollar Monte.
I have had to rescue some parts already and I recall one time I was getting an interior and the guy checking me out asked why I didn't get the drivers seat. I told him it was powered and I couldn't move it to get the bolts out. He said a fellow came in one time with a few 9 Volt batteries and a pigtail and got it moved. so I tried that and it worked too 1 to go backwards and 2 to go forwards.

good luck with the restoration

yeah, I’m starting with cv axles, gonna pull some tomorrow $55 for both off a 68k mile impala, thinking wheel bearings might be bad, when the car is on a jack and you move the wheels they almost feel like the lug nuts are loose

thank you, I’m gonna have to try the battery trick with my seat, the power seat will go up and down but not backwards or forwards

After driving the car again I realized the steering isn’t as bad as it seemed, I just have a severely warped rotor, never had one this bad but it broke my rearview mirror from how much it shakes the car, the noises i am hearing are from my front driver side tire being mounted backwards, and the alignment is terrible because the guy I bought it from said the tie rods were loose, and he tightened them himself, going to get rotors tomorrow from junkyard, and 2 used tires. Just need to find a decently cheap place to get an alignment then I should have it on the road, also the cars transmission was slipping today when I got on it, I checked the fluid and it ended up being 6 quarts low, hopefully fluid filled up fixes the slipping, will keep this thread updated

After topping of trans fluid and front rotors from junkyard, the car shifts fine, and no more shaking, going next week to get 2 tires put on, and a alignment for $70 should be driving after that

New problem with the Monte, I went to autozone and got some new blinker bulbs for the front because they both were out, I have the driver side working fine but the passenger side doesn’t, the bulb will come on with the headlights on but it just stays on. Does anyone know what would make that happen?

Drove the Monte into town today to get a alignment got not even half mile away from alignment place and the car died, don’t know what’s wrong with it but it melted the negative terminal, I replaced the terminal, and then the starter caught on fire, I left the car in a family video parking lot I’ll go work on it tomorrow but I don’t think it’s coming home unless I trailer it

I ended up selling the Monte today to a friend in the family video parking lot for $300 car was leaking trans fluid on to the wiring harness and it caught fire and burnt a lot of wiring up on it, I decided it wasn’t worth it to fix with how many miles it had, car was fun while it lasted, i am gonna try to find a supercharged 3800 Monte or build one next I like the last 05 body style better than my 06 anyway. Here’s the last pictures I took of the car for a couple with my truck too before I sold it

Update on the Monte, guy I sold it to was a friend and he wrecked it on the way home he is paying for damage but he doesn’t want the car anymore I’m headed to find the car now and I’ll put some pictures of it here when I find it, looks like it’s not the end of the Monte
